Assistance with Travel & Transport

  • Daily or scheduled support getting to and from TAFE, university, job sites, vocational programs, school drop-off and pick-up, employment support, community programs, and more.

  • Transport and accompaniment to medical centres, hospitals, or allied health appointments — with full support before, during, and after. We ensure you get to important appointments on time and can wait with you, take notes (if required), and help you return home safely.

  • Assistance attending family gatherings, community events, peer groups, faith-based activities, or recreational outings. Whether it’s a weekly social club, a one-off event, or regular community participation — we’ll help you get there and enjoy it.

  • Support during trips to the supermarket, post office, bank, pharmacy, or other everyday errands — including carrying items and navigating busy areas. From groceries to gift shopping, we support participants during planned outings that help maintain daily living and independence.

  • We’re experienced in assisting with and can help load, secure, and manage walking aids, wheelchairs, mobility scooters, oxygen tanks, or any transport-related supports — helping you travel securely and with ease.

  • Guidance, practice, and step-by-step support for participants who want to learn how to use public transport confidently and independently, including how to use buses, trains, uber and taxis or navigating routs, reading timetables, and using online booking systems.

  • Our staff can travel alongside you to ensure comfort and confidence, especially if you're anxious about navigating public spaces or transit systems.

  • If unexpected issues arise during travel (delays, cancellations, health concerns), our team is trained to respond, manage the situation, and keep you safe.

Many NDIS participants require regular transport to essential appointments and outings. We provide tailored support to help individuals with disabilities travel safely, comfortably, and with confidence — whether that’s getting to the doctor, learning to use public transport, or running errands. Our goal is to reduce stress around travel, increase independence, and support community access.

Transportation Services (NDIS) in Port Macquarie

What Is NDIS Transport Support?

Transport support is designed to help participants access the community, attend appointments, and participate in social, educational, or employment activities. This funding is a crucial part of the NDIS, ensuring that individuals with disabilities can lead independent and fulfilling lives.

Door-to-Door Transport Assistance

One of the fundamental transport services offered under the NDIS is door-to-door transport assistance. This service is particularly beneficial for individuals with mobility challenges who require assistance in traveling to and from essential appointments, social activities, work, or educational institutions. NDIS participants can receive support from trained professionals, who ensure they travel safely and comfortably in vehicles equipped to accommodate their specific needs.

Public Transport Training & Support

The NDIS recognises the importance of empowering people with disabilities to use public transport independently. Therefore, it provides funding for public transport training and support. Participants can receive training to build their confidence and competence in using buses, trains, and other public transport options, thereby increasing their mobility and access to various opportunities within their communities.
