Neurospicy Support Network is a local disability and mental health support provider based in Port Macquarie, offering tailored support services for individuals with varied needs. Regardless of if your neurodivergent, living with a disability, managing a mental health condition, or supporting someone who is, I deliver kind-hearted, down-to-earth support to each of my participants.
What Does the word
Neurodivergent
Mean?….
Neurodivergent is a word used to describe people whose brains function in ways that differ from what's generally expected. This can include developmental conditions, sensory processing challenges, learning difficulties, or specific diagnoses such as ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, or dyslexia.
Neurotypical refers to individuals whose cognitive patterns align more closely with standard developmental expectations. Both terms are simply descriptors—they’re not value judgements.
The Reason
Behind the
Name
The name NeuroSpicy Support Network was inspired by a mix of interest & experience in the different ways people process information, communicate, navigate daily life and function.
The name "Neurospicy" comes from a blend of neuroscience and personality. "Neuro" refers to the brain, and "spicy" suggests something unique, interesting, and full of character. Just like spice adds flavour to food, neurospicy is a term some use to describe brains that work in more colourful or unconventional ways.
“NeuroSpicy” is an informal, community-used term that refers to people whose cognitive styles fall outside typical expectations—such as ADHD, autism, or other neurological conditions. While the term is lighthearted, the name represents something important: to acknowledge and accommodate differences in how people experience the world.
While we specialise in supporting neurodivergent individuals, our services extend to anyone navigating the NDIS or living with disability or mental health challenges.
Our Purpose
At Neurospicy Support Network, we're focused on helping people build self confidence and foster independence.
While I work with clients across a broad range of conditions, my service maintains a strong focus on cognitive, psychosocial, and developmental disability, including neurodivergence. These include those dealing with the day-to-day realities of ADHD, autism, anxiety, trauma, sensory sensitivity, and more.
NeuroSpicy Support Network offers disability support services tailored to the specific needs of each individual. The support you receive is flexible in that it can be adjusted to suit your needs on goals for each particular shift.
